You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of patent specifications and handling related tasks (including intellectual property litigation). In particular, we are seeking individuals who can assist in the preparation of patent specifications (technical documents submitted to the Patent Office: created based on explanations from inventors). While candidates with a strong academic background are welcome, whether you have experience or no experience in patents does not matter. In addition to assisting in specification preparation, you will also be involved in tasks such as technical research, rights utilization (license agreements, etc.), intellectual property consultations, and other related duties. Legal knowledge is not required.

Generally, a university degree or higher is required. It does not matter whether your background is in the sciences or humanities. Candidates with qualifications such as lawyer, patent attorney, or information processing-related certifications are especially welcome. In addition, candidates with experience in technical positions at manufacturers or those preparing for the lawyer's examination or patent attorney's examination are also welcome.

Patent valuation can be divided into methods that evaluate value using valuation indicators (YK value, YK3 value) and methods that evaluate value in monetary terms. The patent valuation tasks include the composition of data submitted to financial institutions and manufacturers, as well as the preparation of reports using that data. Other responsibilities include tasks related to the patent valuation web service PATWARE, data preparation for information service companies such as Nikkei Telecon and QUICK, and the creation of patent valuation-related content sold on the office's homepage.

Trademark valuation can be divided into methods that evaluate value using valuation methods (TK value) and methods that evaluate value in monetary terms. In this role, you will also be responsible for the development of new content using TK value.

In principle, candidates who can create computer programs are targeted. Proficiency in languages such as Perl, Python, and VBA is welcomed. However, even candidates without experience in these languages are generally welcomed as long as they have the ability to learn programming basics.
